Bajaj motorcycle CKD Next Year Already

Next year PT Bajaj Auto Indonesia (BAI) began to market versions of the motor completely knock-down (CKD) early next year with the start switch assembly center in Cikarang, West Java.

"We will soon hold a meeting with all directors, to discuss the activation of the plant in December, and expects production could begin running early. Just wait for an invitation from us," said Deputy GM Service and Marketing BAI Vaibhav Gupta here on Monday (5 / 10) .

He explained that preparations continue running the plant since it was first Bajaj into Indonesia in November 2006. The manufacturer even has disbursed funds worth 60 million U.S. dollars to make it happen.

"Of course we also develop new products to achieve three major targets in the five years since production of CKD. To that end, we have sufficient capacity to go in that direction, (maximum capacity) 200,000 units per year," said Gupta.

Bajaj serious work on the sports segment because demand in the past five years tend to be stable, in the range of 8 to 10 percent of total national sales.
